Every year, numerous visiting scholars from around the world as well as grant recipients from diverse research organizations make use of the possibilities offered by the Institute. During their stays, they have a workspace in the library, the most important tool for both the Institute’s research fellows and guests, at their disposal. They are, moreover, invited to take part in the scholarly life of the Institute with respect to lectures and discussion groups.
The Institute bestows grants on foreign scholars every year for stays lasting up to six months. Grants are awarded in the summer for the following year. Moreover, the Institute also bestows fellowships on foreign scholars in the context of the Leibniz-Project: "The Structural Transformation of Public Law". Application procedures and further relevant information can be found at Institute Grants.
