Pedro Cruz Villalón is a professor of the universities of Seville and Madrid. He published ground-breaking books and articles on the history of constitutional law and commented in many publications the establishment of democracy in Spain. From 1992-2001 he served as a judge at the Constitutional Court of Spain, being three years its president. From 2009 to 2015 he worked as an Advocate General at the European Court of Justice where he wrote legal opinions in many important cases. During his stay at the MPIL he will study the impact of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union on the European and the national legal orders.
