Further Academic Activities

Dana Schmalz is an editor of the journal Kritische Justiz (KJ). She has worked as an associate editor of the International Journal of Constitutional Law (ICON) (08/2021 - 05/2023) and as an associate editor of Verfassungsblog (2016-2023). She co-founded Völkerrechtsblog in 2014 and has been a member of the blog's editing team until 07/2022, she is now a member of the scientific advisory board. She is a member of the academic advisory board of the Heidelberg Journal of International Law (HJIL). 

Dana Schmalz is a co-convenor of the Research Group "Internalizing borders: the social and normative consequences of the European border regime" (10/2023 - 07/2024) at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research, Bielefeld. She is also a member of the Cooperation group "Normative challenges of the European asylum system" at the Center.

From 2021 to 2023, Dana Schmalz has been an external supervisor for Master theses in the Public International Law track at the University of Amsterdam.
