MPIL Journalist in Residence

Jacob Kushner (United States) is a seasoned freelance journalist with countless articles in important international publications (The Atlantic, The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Guardian). Mr. Kushner’s fellowship is offered in cooperation with the  Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg. As part of a four-month stay at both institutes, he joins the MPIL from August to October. During his stay, he works on a book project tracing the history the NSU and right-wing terrorism. Mr. Kushner also reports regularly from East Africa (including on the debate over the return of African art and artifacts taken during colonial times).
