Alexander Borodikhin (Russia) is a journalist with years of experience in independent media such as the renowned Mediazona covering political repression and human rights violations in Russia. He visited the institute for a three-month period from April to June. Initially, he planned to focus on the way new surveillance and control tech changes our lives and research the attempts to regulate those technologies, but the war in Ukraine required certain adjustments: while online censorship and surveillance remain among relevant topics, legal aspects of this war and the ramifications of battlefield decisions emerged as far more pressing issues to research and report on at the moment.
