MPIL Journalist in Residence

Olha Konsevych is an experienced journalist with a PhD in media studies. Until 2022, she held senior positions in various Ukrainian media, including editor-in-chief of the website 24tv.ua, one of the largest news sources in Ukraine, where some 135 journalists and reporters worked before the Russian war of aggression. In Germany, she works with Tagespiegel and most recently was the 2022 Journalist in Residence Fellow at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB). Olha Konsevych will be at the Institute from June to August, researching the human rights situation of people in the occupied territories of Ukraine, with a particular focus on the human rights of women and LGBTQI*, as well as press freedom. Currently, she also focuses on investigative journalism in the field of security following the explosion of the Kakhovka dam and the ongoing Ukrainian counteroffensive.
