Hannah El-Hitami is a freelance journalist with writings in DER SPIEGEL, Al-Jazeera, TAZ, netzpolitik and Amnesty Journal. She is also the text editor of the German-Arabic magazine Fann. In recent years, she participated as a reporter in almost all of the 108 trial days of the Al-Khatib trial in Koblenz. Hannah El-Hitami will be at the Institute from early November to mid-December, where she will study the Al-Khatib trial and the principle of universal jurisdiction from a comparative law perspective, as well as the political, logistical, and cultural hurdles to realizing the principle.
